One of the highlights will be the world renowned mountaineer Doug Scott giving a wonderfully illustrated talk on the evening of Friday 5th March.During the lecture Doug will return to his roots and tell how he first discovered climbing when out with the Boy Scouts in the UK. He started his expedition career early going to Chad, Kurdistan and Afghanistan. Then came a move into Big Wall Climbing in ever harsher environments in the Himalaya and the Karakorum, where he put up a new route on the highly technical Ogre. He spent over 18 months of his life, on three expeditions committed to climbing Everest's South West Face with Dougal Haston. There will be many other events aimed at walkers and non-walkers alike. Details and booking information/ticket availability and be checked at website link
