The 2010 Crickhowell Walking Festival is being eagerly anticipated after last year's festival proved to be yet another great success. More than 750 walkers took part in over 50 walks and events. The 2010 festival will take place from 27th February to 7th March.The Festival is organised by the Crickhowell Resource and Information Centre (CRiC), a charitable organisation based in the centre of Crickhowell. Here you will find the Tourist Information Centre as well as an Internet Cafe, Art Gallery, Public Toilets and other facilities. CRiC is open from 9am to 5pm during the Festival.

In its heyday Rhondda's coal was as important as the oil produced by the Middle East today. This Welsh Valley helped to power the world, and the character and culture of the Rhondda is brought to life in the 'Black Gold' story through exciting multi media displays set in three restored colliery buildings. The Rhondda Heritage Park based at the former Lewis Merthyr Colliery, Trehafod, is one of the top heritage and cultural visitor attractions in South Wales and provides a fun and interesting day out for individuals, groups, school children and students.

The story of Aberglasney spans many centuries, but, the house's origins are still shrouded in obscurity.

Most of our walks go into the hills. Participants are reminded that the following gear must be taken: walking boots, rucksack, hat, gloves, warm clothing (not jeans!), spare sweater, water and a hot drink, lunch, extra food and of course, waterproof jacket and trousers. A whistle and torch should be carried, particularly during the winter months. Participants must satisfy themselves that the walk is suitable for their abilities. You can take advice, by ringing the walks leader whose telephone number is given. No liability will be accepted for loss or injury that occurs as a result of taking part. An adult must accompany young people (under18).
